For Zetsubou, I think there are plenty of interesting wishes-gone-wrong stories they could tell. I'd also be interested to learn more about the dangerous wish-granters. I Shoujo was actually a pretty cute romance. It featured just the one couple in the 3 chapters I read, but I'm guessing it will continue with magic apps in other couples' love stories. Seinaru Megumi is one for fans of 4-koma gag manga about high schoolers.
My opinion: I Shoujo sounds like a cute romance manga - great for those in the mood for love. I'm surprised it's in Jump though~ Seinaru Megumi - if you're in the mood for a slapstick school comedy, then this manga will be your cup of tea... Zetsubou no Kurojiasu - This sort of reminds me of Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl) who kind of granted wishes for revenge in exchange for your soul. Although the art seems more shoujo-ish, it still gives me that vibe since wishes are very tricky. I'd be interested in reading this.

Tanuki de Pon was a very simple and cute comedy. Gentle-Kun was also a comedy, but of the silly, over-dramatic sort. Tenraku Akuma Demon's Core might have the most promise of the three. There's quite a lot of ecchi-ness, but I think the story was a neat idea. Here's what DrCoke had to say:
Quote:
E-robot might have some potential. The characters are like-able, and if they author can make creative use of the 'fighting with errors' idea, the battle portion might actually be interesting. The other two... were very uninteresting.
My opinion: Personally, this week didn't particularly appeal to me that much, but each manga would appeal to different demographics... Akuma to Ore is good for those wanting a supernatural and more adult-ecchi manga that lasts just for one volume. E-Robot - If you want a more PG-13 type of ecchi and don't want to invest that much time into it with some action thrown in, then this would be the one-shot for you. Gentle-kun is for those of you wanting a silly one-shot. Houkago of the Dead - Those wanting to get into the zombie craze may want to check out this one-shot about zombies~ Tanuki de Pon! - Want to check out a transforming tanuki/raccoon and watch its interactions with a girl, then this is up your alley. It'll appeal to the slice-of-life crowd~ Tenraku Akuma! Demon's Core - another manga that'll appeal to the ecchi reader, but more comedy thrown in than the other two.

Shinkai seemed like a kind of generic school club story with everyday mysteries. KiriwoTerrible was kind of funny in the way it pointed out that "heroes" sure do a lot of collateral damage. ACCA seemed to have a very slow plot, and the art was not really a style I enjoy. Here's what DrCoke had to say:
Quote:
I loved Stealth Symphony. It does a fantastic job drawing a fantastic and unique world, and the characters are very lovable. The battle scenes look to be pretty top notch as well.
My opinion: No really ecchi manga this week... ACCA - 13-ku Kansatsuka - If you're a fan of Natsume Ono (mangaka of House of Five Leaves, Ristorante Paradiso) and don't mind the more slice of life/slower moving plot, then this manga is for you~ D.D.D. - Devil Devised Departure - If you're looking for a supernatural action manga, then this is for you... Kiriwo Terrible is also another supernatural action manga, but more along the lines of comedy and the misunderstanding of the role of the big bad black monster. Shinkai Tsuzuri no Dokkairoku would be a nice pick for those who want to read about school mysteries. Stealth Symphony - on the other hand, this manga is for those who are in the mood for fantasy. Four chapters are already out and scanlated so it'll be easy for people to check it out. Tokyo Wonder Boys is another new manga in Jump, but about soccer. The premise isn't that new (I swear I've read the same premise before) but if you like soccer (or football for non-Americans), then this manga is the one for you...

Boy's Room is a pretty quick collection to read, with short little love stories. Amaama to Inazuma seems like it will be one of those heartwarming unconventional family kind of stories. Tsukiyoda Sadame no Sekai no Sukuikata seems to follow a recent trend of mysterious cell phone games that force you to do things with real world consequences. This time around, though, it's more of a comedy.
My opinion: Amaama to Inazuma seems great for those wanting a nice little slice of life manga. It kind of looks like it's going to set up the story to have the teacher get together with one of his students' mom... Boy's Room - If you're in the mood for love, then you may want to check out this manga. Tsukiyoda Sadame no Sekai no Sukuikata seems a bit ridiculous and interested me the most out of the three. I'm curious to see how stealing panties will save the world though... If you want a bit of ecchi and comedy, then you should take a look at this manga...

There, God has prohibited war and declared this to be a world where "everything is decided by games"—even national borders. Humanity has been driven back into one remaining city by the other races. Will Sora and Shiro, the good-for-nothing brother and sister, become the "Saviors of Humanity" on this alternate world? "Well, let's start playing."
Based on novels by the author of Scrapped Princess and Outbreak Company.

In the process of using her knowledge of ancient alchemy to help others, she was assigned to the Development Department. The young man's name is Logy. Having learned the newest alchemic techniques in Central, he requested a transfer to this understaffed town to make use of his abilities, and meets Escha when he is assigned to the Development Department as well. This is what tethysdust said this week:
Quote:
The stand-out this week for me was Jotei Yuna. I'm pretty sure I've read first-chapters of stories with a similar premise, but the intrigue in this one made it really easy to get pulled into the story. I found it kind of funny that the other two were both harem-type stories featuring a main character named Takeru. They seemed pretty generic to me, though. Here's what DrCoke had to say:
Quote:
Tsurami-sougo-kankei: I had a hard time understanding what made this manga interesting. It might be that many of the lingo used in this manga is a bit foreign to me.
Hito-kui: This one's very interesting. The author is taking his/her time revealing many of the secrets of these cannibalistic monsters, pushing you to read further. The main character is very lively and fun/funny.
Makia: I like how creepy this one can be, but at the same time being comical and/or erotic. If you like horror/ero-guro type mangas, this will be up your alley.
My opinion: Hito Kui seems like it'd be pretty interesting for thosewanting to check out a new horror manga and finding out why such a monster exists... Jotei Yuna is another manga about hostesses (since it's from KURASHINA Ryou, who has written many manga about the night world of hosts and hostesses like Jouou and Kurofuku Monogatari). If you want another manga about the night life, then this may interest you. Makia is another horror manga this week with many people being killed off, but seems tied to a classmate. If you're looking to read the whole thing, then this one is for you since it's just a short 3 volume series. Melty Moment - If you like manga based off of ero-games, and are in the mood for romance/ecchi scenes, then you should check this one out. If you're too impatient for the manga, then you can always check out the game... Suihanki Shoujo Komeko is more on the slice of life/comedy side so would be perfect for someone looking to read a funny 4koma series. Tsurami Sougo Kankei may be interesting to check out if you want to see someone stuck behind the computer venturing out into the real world of voice acting. Manga about voice acting isn't new, but it may be a different take on the industry~
Thanks everyone for the years of being great members. The MH staff have been great catering to all the requests, problems and trolls that like to overtake the forums and our kind members. So in an act to prevent future trouble makers and to monitor any secret plans that happen behind the scenes (aka PMs) we have decided to take security up a notch.
Introducing MH's new point of access! The MH AF Browser! You'll need to download and use this program in order to continue using MH.
It will
*log all your keystrokes while in the site (Don't worry, your password will be blocked from even our eyes) *Be sent to a super secret server where my dedicated team of apes with a specialty in conspiracy theory will dissect any and all messages to look for any kind of revolution. *To then issue bans to any and all members that seem to be misbehaving, bashing or brown-nosing.
You are free to not use this program at any time - however those getting caught accessing the site without it will be swiftly banned.
Apparently people felt that the post the other day, on April 1st, was real so we decided to put up a post stating it wasn't and that you were fooled.
Thanks everyone for giving us great laughs as well as way to go to those that realized it was an April Fools joke from the ever so cleverly placed key letters "AF" placed within the app. We would also like to thank those who pretended to be banned during the day :p.
It was fun doing something other than just modding the site.
For those of you who would like to know how I made the programs - I used the program LiveCode to code it. It's an evolved form of Hypercard if you guys know what that is :p
here is the code I used for the app:
local lBrowserID
on openCard browserOn end openCard
on browserOn put the windowID of this stack into tWinID
put revBrowserOpen(tWinID, "http://mangahelpers.com") into tBrowserID if tBrowserID is not an integer then answer "Failed to open browser." & tBrowserID exit browserOn end if
put tBrowserID into lBrowserID
revBrowserSet lBrowserID, "showborder", true revBrowserSet lBrowserID, "rect", the rect of graphic "browser"
end browserOn
on browserBeforeNavigate pID, pURL global browserCancel if "mangahelpers.com" is not in pURL then answer warning "Can't navigate to a domain ouside of MangaHelpers.com." put true into browserCancel end if end browserBeforeNavigate
on closeCard browserOff end closeCard
on browserOff if lBrowserID is an integer then revBrowserClose lBrowserID end if put empty into lBrowserID end browserOff
Let me what you guys thought of the little prank :D.

Here's what DrCoke had to say:
Quote:
Kounodori: Very dramatic, very real. This one gave me a glimpse of what a future parent may feel when they encounter the hardships of bring life to their child.
Youkai-Shoujo-Monsuga: Light-hearted, ecchi manga. This one's an easy read.
Shinjin Quiette: Good fight scenes, somewhat rough art (similar to Hunter x Hunter style?) I like this one so far, but after only two chapters, its potential is still to be seen.
My opinion: Hoshi no Ponko to Toufuya Reiko - If you're a fan of sci-fi, then you should check it out. It's only 1 volume too. Jigoku Koi Sutefu - The idea behind this is pretty unique. I don't think there are really any manga about life in hell so it might be interesting to check this one out. I'd probably want to check it out the most of this week's manga because of the set up. Kou no Dori - This sort of reminds me of Black Jack (Black Jack ni Yoroshiku) because of the medical profession, but in a slightly different field. If you want an alternative to something like Black Jack, then you should check this one out. Shinjin Quietta - In the mood for action? Then you should check this manga out. Youkai Shoujo - Monsuga - This manga is more aimed for the ecchi reader. Take a look if you want a new harem/ecchi type manga.
If you haven't done so already, check out the scanlations of the mangas from previous shout outs which have been recently scanlated: ecchi school life manga Iincho (MH link), school life comedy Shuukan Shounen Girl (MH link).
