He drinks out of it and proceeds to stalk Shizuku while she practices her gymnastics. As he watches her practice, he wishes that he could turn into the suit that she is wearing. To his surprise, his wish comes true! Now, he finds out that the liquid he drank from the water bottle was in fact, a chemical created by Shizuku's father that allows him to turn into any object he wishes. An odd experimental relationship begins between Niboshi and Shizuku.

Star Light Woman is not an especially unique premise, but it seems to be taking it in an interesting direction. I'd be curious to see what kinds of 'useless' powers some of the aliens' rejects have. Renai Mangaka pretty much mixes and matches a lot of clichés of the genre (small child orphaned and unwanted, mangaka manipulating someone into helping with 'research', etc.), but I think it would probably be enjoyable for people who enjoy those particular types of stories. The Cthulu one was very strange. It takes a while for the supernatural bits to show up, but they do appear eventually. It seems like there's a current trend in making manga about cthulu mythos+schoolgirls+comedy, but this one was a bit more interesting than others I've read (and seems to take a slightly more serious turn, eventually).

My opinion:
I wonder what sort of explanation the cult leader gives in Charon. I don't understand how giving an explanation of "taking some medicine" is an excuse for being kidnapped in Minase Youmu to Hontou wa Kowai Cthulhu Shinwa, unless the drug is some sort of experimental drug and she's part of an experiment. I'm a bit curious as to why she was abducted. I'm also sort of interested in seeing what kind of "love situations" occur in Renai Mangaka, how Aiko will deal with the situations, and how their manga will turn out.

One day while walking home from school, he finds that someone has messed with his trash. His trash has been left behind because the different types of trash were mixed up. The perpetrator kept mixing up only Souya's trash everyday, so one day Souya decides to lie and wait to catch this annoying criminal. That day, he finds that the perpetrator was actually the recently transferred classmate, Tokisaka Koyomi, and she reveals that she has come from the future to stop all environmentally friendly activity. Now, Souya and Tokisaka will have to live together and destroy the environment so that Tokisaka can go back to the future.

Shinkaigyo no Anko-san is a really bizarre idea, but that kind of makes it stand out. It seems more or less like a usual school story, but with the added twists of fish behavioral problems and physical quirks (like the eel girl who was afraid she would secrete mucus when agitated by confessing to the boy she liked).

Issho ni Kurasu Tame no Yakusoku o Itsuka would probably be interesting to people who are into that genre of story. Also, I put the adult tag on there due to some fairly explicit sex scenes between Gorou and adult women (*not* concerning Sana, at least not that I've seen).

Dirty Christ Superstar was a strange one, though not as blasphemous as it might sound. Unlike some of the usual sorts of stories about fathers meeting children they didn't know about, "Hades" seems to be a thoroughly unpleasant person. I'm guessing he will probably shape up throughout the future chapters, due to his daughter's influence.

Dirty Christ Superstar sounds like an interesting drama, although the name of the title may turn off some people... Ranshi no Kuni no Alice also piqued my interest - to see how the fairy tale princesses will try and assassinate Alice... Tokisaka-san wa Boku to Chikyuu ni Kibishisugiru. may also be funny to read in terms of how ridiculous the premise is since I don't see how destroying the environment (by not putting out the trash) may allow Koyomi to return back to the future. Also, what if changing the past somehow changed her future and not allow her to return (and other time parodoxes)...

I'm not how long Reizouko Tantei could keep up the theme (how many different things can you learn from someone's fridge, really?), but it was a neat idea. The stories seem pretty episodic early on.

Ore Fetish was not really my kind of manga, since I found the main character and the general style really irritating. I think it's probably good for anyone into those types of characters (like the girl who goes from little and cute to loud and scary at the drop of a hat).

Sanbanme no Tsuki was the most interesting one of the lot to me. However, it seems to be much more of a peaceful daily life story than a science fiction, at least so far.


My opinion:
Ore Fetish Ichigo-chan Kiwotsukete! might be interesting to see if the main character ever gets away from making a scary face to the guy she likes (or not since the series is on-hold...). Sanbanme no Tsuki seems the most interesting to me. I'm curious to see how the Earth became empty (if they ever find out why).

Funouhan was very dark, with creatively disturbing stories. It appears to be mostly episodic so far, but a couple of the characters appear to be beginning to recur. I think that the police's effort to pin some sort of actual crimes on the killer guy might be what starts to come up in the future. Pokopoko Coffee Kibun was a pretty cute slice of life type story. I'm not really into sports manga, so Buddy!! seemed a bit silly to me. I think it would be interesting for anyone looking for an intersection between sports manga and gender-bender manga, though.

Out of sheer coincidence, these twins end up graduating middle school and being accepted into the same high school. Out of more sheer coincidence, their first day of high school ends up terrible due to one kid named Shindo. Shindo is a genius and ace rugby player, who plans on joining the high school's rugby team. Now, Aisaku and Asuma are both determined to beat Shindo in their respective ways.

Fuwa Wataru is a high school age boy who loves cute stuff like stuffed animals. He's at an arcade one day, trying to win a cute new stuffed bear, when bullies show up to torment him. In fleeing from them, he happens across a very special toy-catching game---one that has a naked man in it. The man calls himself "Mofu-tarou" (after the name of the stuffed bear) and insists that he is a stuffed animal. He does seem to have genuine stuffed animal ears and a tail, at least. He follows Wataru home, determined to be his new stuffed animal. Wataru's life gets even weirder as his Mumu-tan stuffed bear starts talking, and he has to figure out how to hide his new Mofu-tarou "stuffed animal."

Surprisingly, Koi no Cupid was probably my favorite of the week. The premise is ridiculous, and that pretty much tells you what to expect, but I thought the execution of it was very cute. Material Polka and Nuigurumi Kurasshu were both extremely strange--a little too weird for me. Shuukan Shounen Girl seems kind of like each chapter will be like a short story (though slightly connected to the previous chapters). I'm not sure how long they can keep up having a new girl featured every week, though.

If you like sports mangas that rely on a ratio of about 7:3 for sports and comedy, "Hello" might fit your needs. It starts out a bit slow, but stick with it for at least 3 or 4 chapters to get to the good bits.

My opinion:
I hope those who celebrated Thanksgiving had a good one and didn't eat too much. As for the manga,
Erashiko - seems like it'd be a light hearted slice of life comedy; perfect for those wanting something light to read.
Hello!! - looks good for those into sports and competition.
Koi no Cupid Yakenohara Jin - this one sounds the most interesting yet silly. However, since it's in Jump, it'll probably get cancelled soon...
Material Polka - sounds like another school survival manga, although with just girls and very strict rules... But it's weird that the killed girl explodes with candy...
Nuigurumi Kurasshu - Why would you allow a naked man go to your house?! And why would the parents allow him to stay?! This manga is perfect for those who like silly manga.
Ore ga Abnormal kamo Shirenai Ken ni Tsuite - perfect for those into ecchi manga, but maybe it'll be educational and explain the porno business instead of just showing the guy doing girls with lots of boob shots, etc...

Ma Curriculum was my favorite this week. Maya doesn't really seem much like a demon, so I am wondering if her work in the human world will end up changing her. Hanebado seems like a pretty standard sports anime (though it is the coach who is super enthused), and Baby Kokoro was pretty silly.

My opinion:
Ma Curriculum! sounds the most interesting of the bunch to me, although there seem to be many manga about demons in the human world... This week has two different sports manga (one about badminton - Hanebado! and another about kickboxing - Mongrel). Mongrel kind of reminds me of All Rounder Meguru so it might be interesting as well.

They soon encounter the inhuman cruelty of the vampires first hand, before Ryousuke is able to meet up with the human resistance. Ryousuke wants nothing more than to escape the island, but mainland Japan may not be safe for long. If the humans don't defeat the vampires soon, then the vampires will succeed in their plans to spread the virus to the mainland!

In this manga, the famous male onmyouji Abe no Seimei is actually a female college student, Abe Akirako, who was sent back in time from the Heisei (present-day) period to the Heian period (794-1185)! She doesn't really have any skills, but she uses the random modern stuff she had with her for the time slip to support her reputation as the genius onmyouji. Just after her time slip, she is picked up by Fujiwara no Michinaga, who takes her in (in her male, onmyouji identity) and becomes her ally in this new time period. From Abe's point of view, she's gone from NEET to elite, so maybe the Heian period isn't such a bad place to stay!

My favorite by far was Chikyuu no Houkago. It was really very peaceful for a post-apocalyptic manga, but there were hints of more serious things to come. The Higanjima sequel was very violent, but kind of an interesting story so far. Seimei-san wa Ganbaranai follows the recent trend of making historical figures into cute manga girls, so I imagine it would be fun for those who are into that.

My opinion:
I'm interested the most in finding out what happened in Chikyuu no Houkago and how everyone disappeared.

Ginga Teikoku Kouboushi (銀河帝国興亡史)

This is a manga adaptation of Isaac Asimov's "Foundation," a classic science fiction novel and the first published novel of the Foundation series. The story begins when the young mathematician Gaal Dornick arrives on Trantor, the capitol planet of a 12,000-year-old galactic empire, at the invitation of Hari Seldon. Hari Seldon is a mathematician who developed the science of psychohistory, which combines history, sociology, and statistics in order to make predictions about the future of large groups of people.

To Gaal's surprise, he and Hari Seldon are arrested for treason shortly after his arrival! Hari Seldon has made a prediction that the Empire will fall in 500 years, after which there will be a 30,000 year dark age. He claims that nothing can be done about the fall, but that he can use his knowledge of psychohistory to shorten the following dark age to 1,000 years. The Empire's rulers are not thrilled with this news, and they exile Hari, Gaal and others who are involved to the remote planet of Terminus.

Thus begins the Foundation, which must endure through the end of the Empire, and follow Seldon's plan to bring humanity through on the best possible path!

Then there are the two close friends, Ukita Sakuya and Nako Kairi, who creep into her house in search of a ghost, and end up deciding that Hare needs to join their team, due to her superior mystery-solving skills. Hare is used to being alone, but it looks like moving out in the country is bringing more people into her life!

I was surprised and delighted this week to see a manga version of Asimov's Foundation! I haven't read the novel in years, but I think it's great that the manga might introduce the story to a new audience! Shimaman was a pleasant read as well, and seems to have a lot of potential for developing stories in future chapters. Ofuro no Tomodachi was a light, silly 4-koma, and, at least from the chapters I read, it isn't as risqué as it might sound from the description.

My opinion:
It'd be interesting to see how Asimov's story gets adapted in manga form in Ginga Teikoku Kouboushi. Ofuro no Tomodachi Furobody sounds like a ploy to show girls in bathtubs/playing with toys. Shimaman also looks like another light hearted manga with an awkward main character at the center of the story...
